INTRODUCTION
Network Operating Systems extend the facilities and services provided by computer operating systems to support a set of computers, connected by a network.
7.1 DEFINITION AND OVERVIEW
Network Operating System (NOS) are specialized software that allows multiple computers to communicate, share files and hardware devices with one another. Most operating system today have network capabilities already embed in them.
7.2 KINDS OF NETWORK OPERATING SYSTEMS

Specialized software to control network device such as a router, switch or firewall.

System software that enables computers to be operated on a network, allowing shared file and printer access among multiple computers in the network, to enable the sharing of data, users, groups, security, applications, and other networking functions, typically over a local area network (LAN), or private network.
