INTRODUCTION

With the topics thus far treated in this lecture series, it is imperative that we appreciate the use of Operating Systems themselves.  This section will introduce us to common operating systems.

11.1     MICROSOFT WINDOWS

Most users of computer in offices, homes and schools use Microsoft Windows and are thus familiar with its everyday operations.

This class will take a practical approach to Widows (as commonly called) to learn a few things as users, so we can better understand user difficulty with the system, thereby giving us a better perspective on operating system development.

11.2     OTHER OPERATING SYSTEM
The class will have a hands-on on other operating system systems, to be demonstrated by ay class member under the guidance of the lecture to the appreciation of the whole class.
